My Bio
For almost my whole life thus far I have been taking photographs that had no depth, no meaning. I got my first digital SLR in 2007 wanting to take the next step in photography but never got further then treating it like a cheap point and shoot. For over 3 years I never once tried any of the manual settings, different exposure times, nothing.

With my purchase of a Canon T2i I plan on changing my whole outlook on photography. I am learning about the different settings and using that knowledge to get some pretty interesting shots.

As I am still learning this art I am more then open to critique and suggestions.

Thanks for stopping by my page.

Just got done shooting at the 2013 New Smyrna Beach, FL Balloon and Sky Fest. Unfortunately I was only able to go for one day of the 3 day event but got a few photos to come out ok and I will be uploading some of them over the next few days.

New Horizons

Just got done shooting the lunar eclipse the morning of the 21st and now I'm off to shoot some more things. I'm hoping to expand on my range and improve my overall quality with only 1 hiccup along the way. I am active duty military and as such I am about to deploy. I am going to be taking my camera along with me but the range of things I'll be allowed to shoot is very minimal. I wont even be able to shoot most of the landscapes. The only things that will be safe are the sky and random people and I don't like asking people if I can photograph them, not something I'm comfortable with. Who knows what I'll be doing in a year, I sure don't.

New Camera

0 min read
I still have my Sony a100 DSLR clunking around somewhere and I might break it out again someday but probably not any time soon. My new camera is a Canon T2i with an EFS 18-55mm lens and a EFS 55-250mm lens, I also have the 430EX II Speedlite external flash. Thus far the first photos taken with no additional settings implemented dwarf the Sony's quality, it's not even close. This camera is 1,000x the camera that the Sony a100 is. I'm planning on getting a much better telephoto lens in the future but my next purchase is going to be a battery grip and a good macro lens along with a couple more batteries. Will need to save some more money to g

Hello *waves*

Forgot you were on here.
I've seen your sun/Venus shot before you deleted it, and it seems to me you had a pretty bad problem with focusing. Here's a useful link (and lots of reading!): [link]
Thank you very much for that, tons of useful info.
But after seeing other photos of the sun/Venus event I realized that my submission was something else entirely. The large dot exactly centered on the sun was more then likely a side effect of the cheap lens I had used as other photos clearly showed Venus along the outer edge of the sun, and much smaller too.
